Flight Cancelled, Need to Rebook

Work all channels at once, don’t queue for just one: Counter, phone support, live chat, and the app all at the same time — whichever comes through first handles the rebooking.

Priorities, in order

  1. Check if you can still depart today Look at alternate flights: same airline, same alliance, different airline, even a different departure city.

  2. Stabilize your situation on the ground If today is a no-go: sort out a hotel, wifi, and charging. Get stable first — you’ll make better decisions once you’re not running on fumes.

  3. Track your baggage status Confirm whether your bag was pulled during rebooking or is still in the system — don’t let it get separated from you without anyone knowing.

  4. Rebook through multiple channels simultaneously Counter, phone, and live chat at the same time — don’t wait in just one line.

  5. Bring your own alternatives — don’t just wait for the airline to offer one Research alternate flights/cities/alliances yourself, then ask the airline “can you do this?” — that’s much faster than waiting empty-handed for them to propose something.

If you’re traveling as a group

  • Large groups are hard to rebook together, need more seats, and often get split up — this is normal, not bad luck
  • General advice: if you personally can leave sooner, leave — don’t wait for everyone to be sorted first
  • Only stay together if you have work requirements or shared equipment that requires core members to move as one
